Circles?

I’ve just been cycling and I had some more thoughts on the post ‘a deceiving God’, so I’ll share it quickly.

When you go on a walk or a trip and you leave your house, go round the block, to the park and back or whatever, and you arrive back at your house, you’ll always say (to your pestering kids at least) that you’ve been round in a circle. That is you’ve left your house and arrived back at your house, you’ve done a loop, you’ve gone round in a circle.

Now we all know that you haven’t been round in a circle, not a proper circle. That just what you say. You could map your exact route, using vectors and maths and stuff, but most people wouldn’t understand, or care. You’ve walked in a circle is a good enough understanding for most.

Perhaps the truth isn’t withheld but made understandable…

Practice

I was thinking yesterday about the fact ‘worship bands’ practice…seems obvious, but why do they do it?

They do it so they can sound good, weather that’s for God’s or human ears I’ll let you decide, but these are supposed to be songs from the ‘overflow of the heart’ to God (to coin a cheesy expression).

Does the heart practice its overflow before it overflows?

I understand why bands have to practice but at that moment they must realise that their not really worshipping, but their getting ready to worship, their preparing and practicing. That’s why they stop and change things. They work on the songs.

And all just seems a little contrary to the point to me…
